Lions Joint Flag Day

Please take note of the following Changes,

A fundraising project to raise funds for Lions Home for the Elders and Lions Befrienders

Event date: August 21, 2010 ( Saturday) - During the holidays

Time: 9am - 1pm / 1pm - 5pm

Collection Center: SP, T18 / Dover MRT Station (TBA)

Collection Area: includes Dover and Clementi (might have more)

All members are encourage to join

All Funds Raised will be to benefit Lions Home for the Elders and Lions Befrienders Service

Basically, Lions Club of Singapore is managing TWO aged homes (providing 24hrs medical and nursing care), Lions Home for the Elders in Toa Payoh and Bedok.

Lions also managed the Befriending and Outreach programmes to about 2200 seniors above the age of 65years who have no family support and to over 1100 trained Befrienders.And they need a tidy sum of over 7 million Dollars to manage both the programmes. And their target for this annual flag day is to raise $300,000.

SP Journey of Youth Olympic Flame

The YOG torch will be coming to SP's grounds and there will be a huge fanfare leading to the light up of the cauldron at SP Plaza.

Venue: SP (Gate 8 all the way to Auditorium)

Date: 12 August 2010

Time: 5pm - 9pm

The Olympic Torch is coming to SP through Gate 8, pass the car park, pass T11, T12 and into the Plaza area outside the Auditorium.

We need to form a welcome party along the sides of the road.

You may do anything you wish to jazz up the event. Be creative ! For example, you can hold a banner that says "Leo Club welcomes the Olympic Flame to Singapore Poly", or dress up in our lion mascots and dance, or play some musical instrument.

The idea is to make the whole event like a carnival.

The whole route is 600metres long, and we need 2,400 students to be part of the welcome party.

Once the Olympic Torch passes you, you then join the back of the convoy and follow them to the Plaza area.

Participants receive a goodie bag which consists of a t-shirt, poncho, food vouchers etc.

MacDonalds and Coca Cola will be sponsoring food and drinks.

This is a once in a lifetime opportunity. The YOG will probably not come to Singapore for the rest of your lives. Be part of it and have fun.

SP LEO 14th Induction and Installation Ceremony

The drinks is poured, and the table is set, for this Grand Night of our 14th Induction and Installation Ceremony!

Venue : LT18B

Time : 5.30pm (Registration and please be punctual)

Date : 4th August 2010, Wednesday

Attire : Leo Club T-Shirt ( If dont have, please wear white colour T-shirt with less cartoon), shoes, and long pants.

Fee : S$ 5.00

The purpose of this event is to formally install you into Leo Club of Singapore Polytechnic as the official Leo Club member and this will be done by The Lions Club of Singapore.

As this is the a FORMAL event of Leo Club of Singapore Polytechnic, your attendance is COMPULSORY.

Thus, please attend the Event and join us on this joyous occasion as we celebrate 14 years of excellence!
